What will my verse be?

“That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?” Professor Keating in Dead Poets Society. I have always loved this movie for Robin Williams’ inspiring portrayal of an English teacher. His eloquence and passion in defense of literature and the arts certainly inspired me, though I never stood on my desk in class and recited “O Captain, My Captain!” We each have the opportunity to contribute a verse, brief though it may be, to the great play of life, and must ask ourselves, “what will my verse be?”
